Hi there and welcome to the kindaclassy blog!
Similar to most DCers, I arrived here as a Bambi wide-eyed intern, ready to be the change I wished to see in the world while making a living out of it. Little did I know, I was surrounded by everything and nothing that I wanted to do: lazy river rafting in the thick of August, bocce playing on U street, Ethiopian food everywhere, historical monuments, enthralling museums, and basically everything under the sun. Yep, I’m sure of it. EVERYTHING.
It was exciting having all of this in my new city, but a lot didn’t actually fit into my two-internships-while-hostessing-on-the-weekends budget. So I learned how to make the most of the city sans making it rain wherever I went.
Even though I’ve stopped working for free, I refuse to let go of my quest to find all that is fun and affordable in our nation’s capital. Here at kindaclassy, I’ll write about things going on in DC that are kinda classy, but also… kinda cheap.
Here’s to us getting to see all that DC has to offer!
